描述：天亮之后，布氏游蚁的大军就开始巡视森林了，它们排成几十米长的纵队离开巢穴，然后在纵队前端成树冠状散开，形成宽达15米的巨大扇形，像镰刀般收割丛林地面上的一切小动物。昆虫、蜘蛛、蝎子和蜈蚣都不能幸免，有时蜥蜴、蛇和雏鸟也会成为牺牲品。这些猎物不是当场吃掉，而是运回到“大后方”的“军营”里去。在干燥的天气里，这支大军行走和屠戮的声音人耳都听得见。
